Job summary

Lear Corporation EEDS & Interiors is seeking a skilled IT professional to implement and support the LJIT/LearPICS shop floor systems across North American manufacturing plants.

You will drive deployment projects, coordinate with engineering and logistics, and train plant teams to operate and configure the LJIT/LearPICS suite while pushing ongoing improvements.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support the Lear Just-In-Time system (LJIT) - Lear's modernized shop floor sequencing software.
• Implement and support the LearPICS system - Lear's sequencing software for customer orders.
• Coordinate with plant and corporate teams to configure LJIT/LearPICS per build processes.
• Develop and manage project plans for implementation projects.
• Support pre-production testing and debugging with other systems.
• Submit change requests for system enhancements to the development team.
• Train plant IT and engineering teams on LJIT/LearPICS operation and config.
• Provide troubleshooting support across plants as a system expert.
• Interact with Plant and Corporate personnel at all levels.
• Build relationships with colleagues and share knowledge and support.

Job Description

As a member of the Lear JIT System (LJIT/LearPICS) team in the IT Shop Floor organization, you will be responsible for implementing and supporting the LJIT/LearPICS suite of applications for manufacturing plants in North America. LJIT/LearPICS are proprietary, Lear developed Just-In-Time (JIT) systems designed for scheduling the production and shipment of customer orders.

You will also focus on innovation and improvements to the LJIT/LearPICS system and deployment processes as we look forward to the next generation of the system to fit with the evolving needs of the business.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support the Lear Just-In-Time system (LJIT) - Lear's modernized shop floor sequencing software.
• Implement and support the LearPICS system - Lear's internally developed shop floor sequencing software for customer ordering.
• Coordinate with plant and corporate engineering and logistics teams to understand the build process and utilize that understanding to configure and integrate LJIT/LearPICS
• Develop and manage project plans for implementation projects assigned to you
• Support pre-production testing and debugging of order scheduling with other Lear manufacturing and storage systems.
• Identify necessary enhancements of the system and submit change requests to the LJIT/LearPICS development team
• Train the plant IT and engineering teams in the operation and configuration of the LJIT/LearPICS applications
• Provide troubleshooting support to plants on existing installations throughout the region as an expert of the system
• Interact and communicate effectively with all levels of Plant and Corporate personnel
• Build productive relationships with Lear colleagues, and provide knowledge, support, and expertise
• Travel when necessary, up to 50%, to support plant launches

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
• Motivated, self-starter that can actively listen, learn, and execute without much direction, but can also operate effectively as a team member
• Positive attitude with the ability to stay professional and focused under pressure
• Strong problem-solving skills with logical troubleshooting mindset
• Understanding of OpenShift cluster architecture, deployment and navigation
• Strong communication skills (verbal & written), with the ability to simplify and convey technical concepts to non-technical colleagues and management
• Project Management experience

Bonus If You Have

• Experience in a manufacturing IT environment
• Experience with JIT (Just-In-Time) sequencing systems
• Experience with .net environment
• Experience with log aggregation platforms/tools
• Experience with SQL and running queries against a modern database (PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
• Experience configuring Windows server environments and thin client hardware
• Knowledge of physical and logical networking concepts
