Job summary

The Davis College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at West Virginia University is accepting applications for an Agricultural Technician at the Animal Science Farm in Morgantown, WV.

This role provides labor and expertise to ensure high-quality operations at WVU’s Agriculture Research and Teaching Centers, supporting animal care, agronomic duties, heavy equipment operation, and facilities maintenance in a collaborative university setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience in agriculture production or research setting involving crops and/or livestock.
• Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
• All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Animal Care and Husbandry: feed animals daily, provide housing and water, follow SOPs under supervision.
• Agronomic/Horticultural Duties: soil prep, fertilization, planting, pruning, harvesting and storage of crops.
• Heavy Equipment Operation: operate tractors, trucks up to 26,000 lbs GVW, perform basic maintenance of farm machinery.
• Facilities/Grounds Maintenance: farm upkeep, cleaning, minor repairs, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Note: weekend/holiday hours may be required.
