Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field is required.
• Five years of full‑time management experience on a large farming operation.
• Substitution allowed: additional farming management years may substitute for experience.
• Valid driver’s license and pre‑employment checks required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise farm workers, inmate labor, and mechanics involved in farming and related activities.
• Operate routine machinery, manage livestock, and apply herbicides as needed.
• Plan farming tasks: fertilizing, planting, harvesting, and storage.
• Train staff in farming techniques and procedures.
• Monitor operations to optimize productivity and efficiency.
• Oversee breeding and animal health; consult veterinarians when needed.
• Prepare financial and progress reports; review timecards and leave requests.
