NC State University seeks an Assistant Extension Agent, Agriculture to serve Columbus County, with responsibilities in livestock education, outreach, and youth programs. The position emphasizes planning and delivering programs, coordinating with 4‑H, and building community relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with GPA 2.5 overall or 3.0 in agricultural field, or 3.0 GPA waived for certain associates.
• Master’s degree with at least one agriculture-related course or half of Master’s curriculum with 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license required.
• Strong background in livestock production, forage/pasture management, and 4‑H programming.
• Excellent oral and written communication, public relations/marketing, leadership, time management, organization, technology, networking, and resource development skills.
• Physical ability to perform job duties; no special physical requirements noted.

Responsabilités

• Plan, implement, evaluate, and market educational programs in livestock production and pasture management.
• Collaborate with the 4‑H Agent on youth livestock programs.
• Provide leadership and outreach to county youth and adults on livestock topics.
• Maintain relationships with livestock producers, youth, farms, and related organizations through innovative education.
• Travel frequently within the county and occasionally outside it for outreach events.
