Job summary

H2ajobs seeks a farm worker to perform winter livestock care in Virginia. You will keep pens clean and sanitized, check livestock several times daily, and maintain logs documenting animal condition and care.

You will drive farm vehicles, load/unload supplies, move livestock, medicate when required, and help with basic maintenance. Housing and meals are provided; a drug-free workplace policy applies, and lifting up to 50 lbs is expected.

Qualifications

• Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed.
• Must be able to obtain appropriate driver’s license following hire.
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Drug test may be required after hire per employer policy.

Responsibilities

• Keep pens clean and sanitized; maintain daily logs of livestock condition.
• Check livestock multiple times daily and medicate when needed.
• Flush wastes into holding pits; replace filters and water plumbing valves.
• Load/unload trucks; move livestock in/out of bins based on weather.
• Drive farm vehicles; perform minor daily upkeep of equipment and site.
