Job summary

Chicago Trading Company (CTC) is seeking a Trade Support Engineer to troubleshoot live trading issues, monitor production systems, and automate workflows using Linux, Python, and Bash. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with traders and developers in a hybrid environment.

You will own incident response, drive continuous improvements, and contribute to runbooks and post-mortems, ensuring minimal downtime and clear stakeholder updates.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting in a Linux environment via CLI.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting for automation.
• Experience supporting end users in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; able to work with technical and non-technical teams.
• Detail-oriented with ownership-driven incident management and process improvement.
• Experience querying databases (SQL, Snowflake) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve live trading system issues, minimizing downtime and updating stakeholders.
• Monitor real-time production environments, respond to anomalies, and escalate as needed.
• Automate workflows and manual processes using Linux, Python, and Bash to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with traders and developers to relay issues and assist with patching and recovery.
• Contribute to runbooks, FAQs, and retrospectives; own incident response and post-mortems.
