Job summary

Chicago Trading Company (CTC) is seeking a proactive Compliance Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain real-time, high-throughput systems that monitor orders and quotes across venues, automate regulatory reporting, and support trading operations.

You will collaborate with Trading, Tech and Operations, lead cross-disciplinary projects, and mentor teammates while ensuring production stability in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience with real-time, latency sensitive trading or financial systems.
• Experience designing scalable systems and high-performance data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of market-making, trading operations, and risk management.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities in a regulated, fast-paced environment.
• Experience mentoring through code reviews and design evaluations.
• Nice-to-have: experience with compliance/surveillance platforms or cloud-native/big-data tech.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve real-time, high-throughput systems monitoring orders and quotes across venues.
• Automate end-to-end compliance: detect prohibited trading, generate regulatory reports, and adapt controls.
• Fix production issues quickly to ensure uninterrupted market operations.
• Document architectures and processes to support audits and regulatory reviews.
• Lead projects across Trading, Tech and Operations.
