Job summary

GCS Recruitment seeks an experienced Broadcast Operations Engineer - Master Control in Centennial, Colorado to oversee live sports programming, monitor feeds, queue commercial insertions and maintain on-air quality. The role requires real-time decision making, strong technical judgment, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as events dictate.

Collaboration with engineering, production, traffic, and client teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in broadcast master control, transmission, or live media operations.
• Ability to perform real-time monitoring, QA, troubleshooting during live broadcasts.
• Strong understanding of broadcast workflows, scheduling, and transmission operations.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under time constraints.
• Calm under pressure and decisive during on-air incidents.

Responsibilities

• Perform QA of incoming/outgoing media for air readiness.
• Operate within a master control environment for live sports/event programming.
• Monitor video, audio, and transmission feeds to identify issues.
• Execute commercial breaks and sponsorship elements per schedule.
• Manage playlists, rundowns, transmission logs, and schedule changes in real time.
• Track sponsorship placements and verify contractual fulfillment.
• Monitor automation systems and take control to maintain continuity.
• Troubleshoot automation failures and feed disruptions during live events.
• Coordinate with broadcast ops, engineering, production, traffic, and client teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain records of incidents, exceptions, and on-air activities.
• Prepare post-event and exception reports for stakeholders.
