Job summary

Stadium is seeking a Master Control Operator to manage on-air operations for original taped programming, LIVE events, press conferences, and studio shows. You will ensure quality presentation across all programming on Stadium’s multi-platform network from the Chicago, IL facility.

The role requires 2+ years of MCO experience, Grass Valley ITX knowledge, and strong communication. Flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays is essential to support live programming.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years Master Control experience (Grass Valley ITX preferred).
• College degree in communications or broadcasting preferred; high school diploma required.
• Proficient in computer software, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• On-air operation of Grass Valley ITX Master Control System
• Editing, managing on air logs, automation playlists and server device management as required
• Complete LIVE on air faxing with remote and studio sources: playlist routes
• Demonstrated abilities to monitor quality of outgoing signals and adjust equipment as necessary
• Knowledge of on-air graphic elements through Grass Valley Vertigo - Ticker, bug and sponsor secondary events
• Preview scheduled programs to ensure that signals are functioning and programs are ready for broadcast. Air checklists and playlist monitoring for on air playout accuracy
• Ensure Close Captioning is accurate
• Support operation of the station by assisting engineering, ingest, and other departments
• Report equipment problems, ensure that repairs are made, and perform emergency workarounds
• Quality Control of filing shows and commercial spots into video server. Knowledge of spot delivery platforms a must.
• Analytical Thinking - analyzing information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems.

• Attention to Detail - strong detail in completing work tasks and provide communication through engineering reporting and Discrepancy reports
