Job summary

Six Flags Great America & Hurricane Harbor is seeking an Entertainment Event Technician Intern to support the technical aspects of live events and performances. This hands-on role offers exposure to a variety of show productions across the park season.

You will work with Entertainment Management on projects, operate show equipment, and help backstage, rehearsals, and guest experiences. The internship requires physical stamina, outdoor work, and a proactive, safety-minded attitude.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Basic technical theatre skills required; strong performers may have advanced skills.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Entertainment Management on season-long projects.
• Operate and maintain technical support on show equipment as directed.
• Perform shows on time and as designed by management.
• Execute cue and show duties as set by Production Staff.
• Participate in rehearsals and production operations.
• Move around scenic elements in dark/restrictive spaces.
• Climb ladders and work at heights above 35 feet; lift over 50 pounds.
• Keep venue clean and safe; sweep, mop, and help with restrooms and storage.
• Use tools and PPE safely; report unsafe acts.
• Assist in managing the House before/after shows and help guests.
• Enforce park policies per handbook and SOP.
• Wear park uniform and bring black steel-toed shoes.
• Report safety concerns to Stage Manager immediately.
• Train new personnel as needed.
