Job summary

Katydid is seeking energetic Live Selling Hosts to lead interactive shows on Whatnot and TikTok Shop in Dallas, Texas. This in-person role requires presenting apparel, accessories, and gifts, while hosting auctions and promotions and engaging with viewers in real time.

You’ll prepare merchandise, manage listings, and shape show flow, with compensation consisting of hourly pay plus commissions. Flexible schedule with 10–40 hours per week based on performance.

Qualifications

• Experience with live-selling on Whatnot or TikTok Shop preferred.
• Ability to model apparel on camera and communicate product features clearly.
• Strong on-camera presence with ability to engage viewers and build rapport.

LIVE SELLING HOST – WHATNOT & TIKTOK SHOP

Hourly Pay + Commission

Katydid is looking for energetic, experienced Live Selling Hosts to help build and grow our live-commerce business on

Whatnot and TikTok Shop.

This is not simply an on-camera hosting position. We are looking for people who understand the entire live-selling process — from preparing merchandise and pricing products to setting up listings, operating the computer during live shows, hosting on camera, tracking results and preparing for the next show.

We plan to hire multiple hosts and build a strong live-selling team.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Host energetic, fast-paced live selling shows on Whatnot and TikTok Shop
• Present and demonstrate Katydid apparel, accessories, bags, hats, drinkware and gifts
• Regularly try on and model women’s apparel during live shows
• Explain product features, fit, sizing, colors and value
• Run auctions, fixed-price products, promotions and giveaways
• Engage directly with viewers and respond to live comments
• Create urgency and excitement without making the experience feel overly scripted
• Keep shows moving quickly with little to no dead air
• Build relationships with repeat viewers and customers
• Develop your own recognizable on-camera personality while representing the Katydid brand

PREPARE THE SHOW

• Pull samples and merchandise from inventory
• Select products for upcoming shows
• Organize products into the selling order
• Prepare and label samples
• Determine which products should be auctioned versus sold at a fixed price
• Work within approved pricing and margin guidelines
• Prepare giveaways
• Create show themes and concepts
• Plan the flow and pacing of each show
• Prepare racks, tables and product displays

WHATNOT & TIKTOK SHOP COMPUTER WORK

• Create and manage product listings
• Upload products, photos and descriptions
• Set quantities and pricing
• Manage Buy It Now products
• Create and manage live shows
• Operate Seller Hub and live-selling controls
• Start and manage auctions
• Manage giveaways and promotions
• Monitor live chat and viewer activity
• Make changes to listings during a show when necessary
• Keep products and inventory organized throughout the live
• Understand basic shipping weights and product setup
• Review sales and show performance after each live

BUILD THE KATYDID LIVE-SELLING PLAYBOOK

We do not just want someone to follow instructions. We want experienced live sellers who can help us continually improve the program. You will help test and refine:

• Whatnot versus TikTok selling strategies

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Previous Whatnot live-selling experience
• Experience selling apparel, accessories, beauty, gifts or other consumer products strongly preferred
• A naturally outgoing, upbeat and engaging personality
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong comfort level on camera
• Ability to talk naturally for extended periods without relying on a script
• Confidence trying on and modeling women’s apparel on camera
• Ability to think quickly and respond to viewers in real time
• Understanding of urgency, pricing and promotions
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to prepare merchandise and samples independently
• Ability to learn Katydid products quickly
• Reliability and willingness to consistently host scheduled shows

SCHEDULE

This position is designed to be flexible.

Approximately 10–40 hours per week, depending on experience, availability and live-show performance.

Schedules may include daytime, evening and/or weekend live shows.

This is an in-person position at Katydid in Dallas, Texas.

COMPENSATION

Hourly base pay + sales commission

We want our strongest live sellers to benefit directly when their shows perform well.

Compensation will be based on experience, with additional commission/incentive opportunities tied to live-selling performance.

Katydid is a Dallas-based, PE-backed, eight-figure consumer brand specializing in women’s apparel, accessories and gifts.

Our products are sold through thousands of retail doors nationwide as well as through our own e-commerce channels.

We are now building live commerce into a meaningful new sales channel and are looking for experienced live sellers who want to help build it with us.
