Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Live Receiving Nights worker to rotate through the live receiving area, including live hanging, crates, forklift driver duties, and backup to finishing. You will help ensure animal welfare and safety while supporting production goals.

The role requires standing for long shifts, strong communication, and the ability to adapt to changing environments. Training and safety compliance are emphasized, with a schedule Sunday–Thursday and varying shift starts.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand and perform tasks for 8–10 hours.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate clearly.
• Capable of working in a changing production environment.
• Must be observant and responsive to safety policies.
• Forklift experience is a plus.
• Ability to pass respirator and vision tests.

Responsibilities

• Back-Up Stabber: monitor kill machine and ensure proper killing before scalding.
• Drawer Inserter: place drawers and detect defects during insertion.
• Live Hang: deliver birds to line at 26 per minute with proper technique.
• Adapt to rotation and varying production demands.
• Train others with skills gained from the position.
• Observe all safety, quality, and animal welfare policies.
• Maintain a positive, cooperative work environment.
• Identify incidents and safety risks and act accordingly.
• Maintain safe work habits and practices company-wide.
• Participate in process improvement and problem solving.
• Follow all Pilgrim's animal welfare guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as directed.

Live Receiving Nights

Purpose and Scope / General Summary

The Live Receiving Worker will rotate within the department. Rotation could include live hanging, crates, forklift driver, and backup to the finishing machine.

Responsibilities

• Back-Up Stabber: Monitor the kill machine and ensure all birds are properly killed before going into scalding.
• Drawer Inserter: Place empty drawers from the output conveyor into the MODs and detect defects in both drawers and MODs during the insertion process.
• Live Hang: Deliver birds to the line at a rate of 26 birds per minute using proper hanging techniques in accordance with Pilgrim’s Animal Welfare Policies.
• Flexibility to work in changing environment and adjust to various production demands.
• Trains others with the skills and knowledge gained from position.
• Observes all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies.
• Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers and leadership teams.
• Recognizes and acts on incidents and safety risks.
• Consistently practices and enforces safe work habits throughout the organization.
• Participates in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies.
• Follow all company animal welfare guidelines.
• Other duties as directed.

What You’ll Need
