Job summary

Pilgrim’s Arcadia, WI is seeking an Evis Sorter for night shifts to inspect birds and ensure compliance with USDA standards. You will monitor lines, sort birds at pace, identify defects, and maintain sanitation and safety as part of a lean, safety-first team.

The role requires ability to work in hot environments, strong communication with leadership, and adherence to FSQA guidelines. Benefits include health coverage after 60 days and a 401(k) with company match.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Auto Transfer Table lines and keep shackles full while identifying and removing Septic birds.
  • Sort birds at a rate of 35+ BPM.
  • Sort, identify and remove yellow peel, injesta, and bile contaminated gizzards at 210 gizzards per minute.
  • Salvage, vacuum and wash birds per FSQA requirements.
  • Perform Final Trim by removing undesired defects.
  • Communicate with Leadership and Process Control on flock, bird, or equipment issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Develop and maintain a working relationship with USDA personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Rotate to positions between departments or positions as needed.
  • Process product using procedures per USDA and Pilgrim’s standards.
  • Apply proper personal hygiene and hand washing.
  • Process product according to procedures and quality/quantity expectations.
  • Train others with skills learned in position.
  • Observe all safety and food safety policies.
  • Foster a positive work atmosphere and teamwork.
  • Recognize and act on safety risks and incidents.
  • Participate in process improvement and problem solving.
  • Follow all animal welfare guidelines.

Evis Sorter - Nights

Purpose and Scope/General Summary

We are looking for an Evis Sorter at our Pilgrim’s Arcadia, WI Complex. In this role you will be responsible to accurately inspect all birds for any issues requiring follow up by USDA or Pilgrim’s Leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Ability to monitor the Auto Transfer Table lines and keep the shackles full on both lines while identifying and removing Septic birds.
  • Ability to sort birds at a rate of 35+ BPM.
  • Gizzard Table – Ability to sort, identify and remove yellow peel, identifying injesta and bile contaminated gizzards at a rate of 210 gizzards per minute.
  • Salvage – Ability to properly salvage, vacuum and was birds per FSQA requirements.
  • Ability to perform Final Trim by identifying and removing undesired defects.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Leadership and Process Control concerning any flock, bird, or equipment issues.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Develops and maintains a working relationship with USDA personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Flexibility to work in changing environment and adjust to various production demands.
  • May be asked to rotate to positions between departments or positions.
  • Processes product using tools and equipment provided in accordance with USDA and Pilgrim’s product standards and procedures.
  • Apply proper personal hygiene and hand washing.
  • Process product according to operating procedures and quality/quantity expectations.
  • Trains others with the skills and knowledge gained from position.
  • Observes all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies.
  • Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, co-workers, and leadership teams.
  • Recognizes and acts on incidents and safety risks. Consistently practices and enforces safe work habits and drives those habits throughout the organization.
  • Participates in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies.
  • Follow all company animal welfare guidelines.
