Pilgrim’s is seeking a Live Receiving Night Worker in Winona, MN. You will rotate within the department, performing live hanging, crate handling, forklift support, and back-up to the finishing line. The role emphasizes safety, adherence to welfare policies, and teamwork across shifts.

The job requires stamina for long shifts, ability to operate a forklift, and strong attention to safety. Training and protective measures are provided to ensure a secure work environment.

Responsabilités

• Back-Up Stabber: monitor the kill machine and ensure all birds are properly killed before scalding.
• Drawer Inserter: place empty drawers from the output conveyor into the MODs and detect defects.
• Live Hang: deliver birds to the line at 26 birds per minute using proper hanging techniques.
• Support to various production tasks as needed.
• Observe safety, quality, and food safety policies and cooperate with teams.
• Participate in process improvement and problem solving.

Live Receiving Nights

Purpose and Scope/General Summary:

The Live Receiving Worker will rotate within the department. Rotation could include live hanging, crates, forklift driver, and backup to the finishing machine.

Responsibilities:

• Back-Up Stabber: Monitor the kill machine and ensure all birds are properly killed before going into scalding.


• Drawer Inserter: Place empty drawers from the output conveyor into the MODs and detect defects in both drawers and MODs during the insertion process.


• Live Hang: Deliver birds to the line at a rate of 26 birds per minute using proper hanging techniques in accordance with Pilgrim’s Animal Welfare Policies.


• Flexibility to work in changing environment and adjust to various production demands.


• Trains others with the skills and knowledge gained from position.


• Observes all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies. Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers and leadership teams.


• Recognizes and acts on incidents and safety risks. Consistently practices and enforces safe work habits throughout the organization.


• Participates in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies.


• Follow all company animal welfare guidelines.


• Other duties as directed.

What You’ll Need:

• Ability to stand and use hands for up to 8 to 10-hour shifts.


• Ability to apply common sense and comprehend basic instructions.


• Ability to effectively communicate with others.


• Ability to work in changing environment.


• Must be observant and highly responsive.


• Excellent hand/eye coordination.


• Ability to operate a forklift preferred.


• Ability to pass PFT Respirator testing


• Ability to pass vision testing if needed.
