Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking an Offal Attendant/Jockey Driver for the afternoons. You’ll contribute to safe, efficient condemnation processes, manage weights and codes for by-products, and keep the offal area clean while supporting production needs.

You will operate the offal grinder, document measurements, and collaborate with teams to maintain safety and compliance. A forklift license, ability to read/write English, and physical stamina are required for the role.

Qualifications

  • Forklift certification and ability to operate forklift.
  • Clear reading, writing and speaking English is required.
  • Ability to complete written forms as part of daily duties.
  • Ability to follow oral instructions accurately and promptly.
  • Physical ability to handle heavy objects and perform labor tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Collect condemned product by lot and weigh/record it.
  • Prepare condemned product for transfer and ensure correct coding.
  • Maintain clean offal room and spray screens as needed.
  • Set up and operate offal equipment including grinder.
  • Record bi-product weights for containers (heart, liver, lungs, etc.).
  • Support with general cleanup and station readiness.
  • Move birds to lairage area when replacement arrives.
  • Fill forklift tanks and maintain safety practices.
  • Uphold safety and food safety policies with team members.

Offal Attendant/Jockey Driver Afternoons

Responsibilities:
  • Collects condemn product by lot and on a periodic basis from 1st processing.
  • Weighs and records all condemn product, scaling product under correct code, ensuring all product is sent to correct trailer.
  • Prepares condemn product for transfer by dying condemn product.
  • Maintains the offal room in a clean, efficient manner, spraying screens and offal pit as needed.
  • Set up and start the equipment, including offal grinder to meet the needs of production.
  • Accurately record bi-product weights for container of heart, liver, lungs etc.
  • Assists with operational clean up.
  • Put birds in lairage area until replacement arrives.
  • Fill up all forklift tanks.
  • Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, coworkers and leadership teams.
  • Observe and enforce all company personnel, quality, and safety and food safety policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
