Battlefield is a storied franchise renowned for uncompromising combat gameplay for over two decades. 100 million players and 5 billion hours played later, the Battlefield team is looking to define the future of the first-person shooter. United under the banner of Battlefield Studios, 4 world-class teams across Criterion, DICE, Motive, and Ripple Effect have come together to focus on the future of the franchise, a connected Battlefield universe filled with immersive experiences built on our unique DNA.

At Ripple Effect, we are a studio where you can do the best work of your career. Above all, we're driven by quality - in the games we create, and in the studio we've built.

With studios located in Los Angeles and Vancouver, Ripple Effect has been dedicated to the Battlefield franchise since our founding as DICE LA in 2013.

We're all-in on the future and our most ambitious Battlefield yet. Want to be part of something special? Read on.

We are looking for a Battlefield Live Operations Lead to join the Ripple Effect team. You will report to the Game Leadership Team located in our Los Angeles studio. We are considering on-site and hybrid working options within the Vancouver or Los Angeles area to apply.

You will lead the planning and execution of Battlefield’s Live Operations. Through collaboration and communication, you will be the main conduit between development, game operations, product management, and other partners accountable to provide the service vision to players.

Accountable to the Battlefield product leadership team, you will deliver a connected and engaging live service. As a leader, you will need to balance the business, development, and operations to guarantee a high-quality player experience for all Battlefield players.

You will be accountable to guide the aligned plans set out to deliver goals and performance indicators for the live service, supporting the product management team to translate these into high-level product goals for development teams. Working with each experience owner, the live ops lead will help align individual experience/product goals and road maps into a single live roadmap.

What you'll do:

  • Define a clear vision, direction, and boundaries for the Battlefield Game Ops Group, and guide teams towards realization of that vision.
  • Implement and lead operating principles and processes to establish a AAA live service group for Battlefield.
  • Establish a Live Service operating framework for Battlefield that creates improved quality throughout the life of each experience and allows for efficient management of the service.
  • Help build an organization and work environment that uses data, analytics, and feedback to help improve Game Operations.
  • Partner with Product and technical leadership to create processes, infrastructure, and tools that allow for easy evolution and change to the service to meet the changing needs of players post-launch.

The skills you will need:

  • 10+ years of senior-level operations and leadership experience, including managing large teams at scale, with experience operating Live Services at scale.
  • 5+ years of expertise in the games industry that includes multiple product cycles and some variety in console/PC Live Service.
  • 5+ years of working at a senior lead capacity in a live game development organization with financial insight and a data-driven mindset.
  • 5+ years of influencing and driving collaboration with cross-functional teams, including partner and team management, driving overall program execution.
  • 3+ years of experience that includes planning and execution of the business strategy for a complete live service operation.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally to engage with partner studios.
  • You are influence-oriented, and excel at collaborating with other leaders and guiding the collective group to the best action, decision, or result.
