News10 in Albany, NY is seeking a full-time Technical Media Operator to manage newscast directing, audio operation, media center duties, and master control for live and taped broadcasts.

The role requires a degree in communications or related field; experience in television or post production is welcome. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent training in communications.
• Experience in television, film, or post production preferred.
• Ability to interact well with journalists, anchors, and engineers.
• Detail oriented with strong organization.

Responsibilities

• Operates studio cameras for live and taped events.
• Composes and frames shots, adjusting lighting, lenses and camera settings.
• Adjusts camera positions to change focus and exposure as requested.
• Operates audio equipment for live and taped events.
• Operates editing systems, titling systems, video switching and effects units.
• Collaborate with the director and staff to coordinate the studio action.
• Builds and decorates the set and provides props for production.
• Assist in installation, operation and maintenance of sound equipment.
• Operate studio graphic systems during broadcast/production.
• Provide audio production support and liaise with outside facilities.
• Assist in digital media productions and liaise with departments.
• May convert analog recordings to digital format.
• Maintains and stores equipment, records and tapes.
