Job summary

WWNY Television is seeking a Technical Media Producer to join our team. This position is responsible for directing morning newscasts, maintaining and ensuring the broadcast quality of our on-air product, and performing a variety of technical duties in a fast-paced, live control-room environment.

The ideal candidate will handle live control-room duties, manage playlists, and ensure regulatory compliance while staying calm under pressure.

Qualifications

Must retain and practice FCC Rules, Regulations, and Standards.
Valid NYS Driver’s License.
Strong computer skills.
Strong math/timing skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Must possess strong attention to detail skills.

Responsibilities

Perform live control-room duties in a fast-paced broadcast environment, including managing commercial playlists, executing program, commercial, and promotional changes, monitoring on-air content, logging discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with broadcast standards and FCC regulations.
Be highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask and manage time in a deadline-driven environment.
Work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing as part of a team; strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
This position requires flexibility to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime to support a 24/7 broadcast operation.
