Job summary

KTLA in Los Angeles is seeking a Part-time Material Manager to support live news productions. You will assist producers, writers, and the director by preparing production elements for broadcasts and coordinating edited video content for live newscasts.

The role requires hands-on editing in Adobe Premiere, familiarity with newsroom systems, and the ability to communicate schedules and content status with reporters and writers. Immediate availability with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Training in Communications, Television Production, or equivalent work experience.
• Two+ years of experience in live News production.
• Able to communicate effectively with team and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist News Producers, Writers, and newscast Director with prep and coordination of production elements for live newscasts.
• Coordinate and prep edited video content for live newscasts; track server playout status.
• Track and communicate status of edited content to News producers in conjunction with reporter live-shot schedules.
• Provide desktop editing support (Adobe Premiere) for News bumps and teases.
• Track and communicate News feed schedules to writers and producers.
• Perform QA of News feed video and edited content prior to broadcast.
• Manage News video archive database after newscasts; research archival requests.
• Cross-training to provide Associate Director relief for breaks, vacations, and sickness.
• Generate End of Shift Report updating content status and server database.
• Provide Production Dept. with production assistance for all News and Special Events.
