Job summary

NBCUniversal's Telemundo News Service seeks a short-term News Producer for a 12-month project in Miami. You will select stories, design newscasts, and coordinate live shots during broadcasts while collaborating with journalists to enhance coverage. Strong ethical judgment and a team-oriented mindset are essential.

The role requires leadership, ability to handle tight deadlines, and proficiency in Spanish and English. On-site work in Miami with possible emergencies and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have leadership qualities, be detail oriented, organized and able to handle intense deadline pressure.
• Demonstrate ability to solve problems, prioritize decisions, and successfully manage multiple assignments concurrently in a high pressure, breaking news environment.
• Knowledge of non-linear editing and shooting workflow.
• News judgment with solid ethical decision process.
• Excellent Spanish, reading, writing and speaking skills.
• Strong English, reading, writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Must select stories, understand all the elements and design a newscast that achieves the daily goal.
• Execute Live Shots and Satellite Remotes during live newscasts.
• Respond to breaking news with urgency and accuracy.
• Work with Journalists to improve story and presentation.
• Write news scripts and edit
• Contribute story ideas, participate in daily coverage decisions and editorial meetings.
• Leadership: take responsibility for own actions and take risks for the team and be a team player.
• Understand and follow all Telemundo News standards and ethics.
