Job summary

Tufts University seeks a Residential Life Coordinator who lives in university housing and leads day-to-day operations and community development in an assigned residential area. This full-time professional role supervises student staff, responds to crises, and fosters a safe and inclusive living experience.

You will collaborate with students to plan programs, conduct safety checks, and manage budget-related tasks while upholding university policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience in residential life, fraternities/sororities, student activities, or related student affairs areas.
• Commitment to advising, mentorship and guiding students.
• Flexibility, approachability and enthusiasm.
• Co-curricular experience in educational settings.
• Experience with diverse student populations and commitment to inclusiveness.
• Self-directed, organized with strong administrative skills.
• Ability to live within assigned apartment full-time (12 months).
• Superior interpersonal skills.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise student staff in supporting communities and developing a safe living environment.
• Address student behavioral issues, respond to crises, and participate in after-hours on-call support.
• Plan and facilitate social and educational programs to enhance community engagement.
• Oversee recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management of student staff.
• Coordinate health and safety inspections and building conditions weekly.
• Manage budgets for assigned residential areas and track expenditures.
