Job summary

Vermont State University is seeking a Coordinator of Residence Life and Student Activities to support a positive campus living experience for students. The role combines residence hall operations with engaging programs to foster leadership, inclusion, and success.

In this live-in position, you will help plan openings/closings, supervise student staff, and collaborate with campus partners on events and initiatives, including orientation, homecoming, and commencements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working with students in a residential life, student activities, or related setting.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation of campus residence halls and safety processes.
• Develop and implement student activities, clubs, events, and co-curricular programming.
• Advise student organizations and the Student Government Association.
• Mentor student leaders to support inclusion and belonging.
• Plan and deliver student leadership training each semester.
• Support campus-wide events such as Orientation, Homecoming, and Commencement.
• Supervise student staff including Resident Assistants and Orientation Leaders.
