Job summary

Aquinas College is seeking a Residence Life Coordinator to oversee a on-campus residential community housing 225-400 residents and to train student staff. The role requires living on campus, responding to emergencies, and coordinating housing operations and programming to promote student growth.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and experience in higher education residence life, with strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college required.
• Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel/Student Affairs Administration or related field preferred.
• Minimum of one year in higher education residence life required.
• Knowledge of student development theory and best practices required.
• Experience working with diverse populations preferred.
• Experience with crisis/crisis response and risk assessment is preferred.
• Experience in adjudication, conflict resolution or mediation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering superior residential and community experience.
• Coordinate with Assistant Director for cross-departmental projects (~8 hours/week).
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergencies on-campus.
• Serve as essential staff during weather-related events.
• Oversee administrative tasks: opening/closing residences, room changes, budgets, records, reports.
• Provide staff training and development for Resident Assistants and Front Desk staff.
• Support housing selection, student organizations, and summer operations.
