Job summary

All Connecticut Home Care Services in Old Saybrook, CT is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Aide for a 24-hour live-in role, seven days per week, to support an elderly client at home. The position involves personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, and companionship, with a focus on preserving dignity and independence in the client’s own home.

Ideal candidates show reliability, empathy, and strong communication; prior caregiver experience is preferred

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving or home health care is preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Basic housekeeping and meal preparation skills.
• Ability to follow health and safety guidelines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to assist with lifting and other physical care tasks as needed.
• Reliable, patient, and compassionate.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing
• Provide supervision and support while encouraging the client’s independence
• Assist with social interactions and daily activities
• Prepare meals and snacks according to the client’s needs and preferences
• Perform light housekeeping and maintain a clean, safe living environment
• Assist with medication management and/or medication reminders as permitted by applicable regulations
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Assist with errands, shopping, and other daily activities
• Follow all care instructions and health and safety guidelines
• Report any changes in the client’s condition or needs to the appropriate supervisor or family member
