Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents on our on-campus homes. Couples provide care, guidance, and supervision for 8–13 students, with a schedule of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, then a transition to a placed houseparent role.

The role includes supervising daily routines, mentoring students, driving to activities, leading devotions, and managing household reporting.

Qualifications

• Two-person role for legally married couples with at least two years of marriage.
• Both spouses aged 27 or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities, and planning/developing activities with students
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
• Supporting multiple student homes on nine days on/three days off, then transitioning to a placed houseparent role
