Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA is seeking a dedicated two-person Houseparent team to live with and guide a group of students in their own home. The role includes daily supervision, devotions, and coordinating activities, with a focus on student wellness and safety.

Couples must be married at least two years, both aged 27+, and able to lift up to 50 lbs. This holistic position includes housing and meals on duty, comprehensive benefits, and relocation/training support.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Flex Houseparents initially support various student homes on a 9-on/3-off schedule; later transition to Placed Houseparent.
