Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students.

This unique, life-changing role creates a family-like environment that supports academic, emotional, and social development. Initially, couples support various student homes on a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule, then move to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for married couples for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel (proselytizing prohibited).
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and plan developmental/recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
• Support initial multiple homes on a nine-on/three-off schedule, then transition to a placed home.
