Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA seeks dedicated houseparents to mentor and supervise students in a residential setting. This two-person role requires a married couple (two years) to live and work with a single group of students, following a nine-on, three-off schedule during the initial phase.

Responsibilities include managing daily routines, medications, devotions, and transportation to activities, with opportunities for growth into a Placed Houseparent role.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models for students.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational activities with students
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
• Flex Houseparents initially support various student homes with a nine-on, three-off schedule, then transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same students.
