Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, is seeking two live-in Houseparents to mentor and supervise a group of students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The role is a two-person commitment for married couples, with one household home and a fixed schedule of nine days on duty followed by three days off.

As placed houseparents, you will live with the same students and support academic and recreational activities, meals, and devotions.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and engage in developmental/recreational planning.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
• Initially support various student homes on a 9-on/3-off schedule; later transition to a placed houseparent living with the same students.
