Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, seeks married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents who reside in on-campus student homes and care for about 8–13 students. You will guide daily routines, plan activities, and support student well-being.

The role transitions from Flex Houseparent to Placed Houseparent, with a nine-on/three-off schedule and opportunities for professional growth. Housing, meals while on duty, and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for married couples (at least 2 years).
• Spouses must be 27+ years old.
• No more than three dependent children in a home.
• Campus smoke-free and weapon-free; no alcohol on duty.
• Pets limited to fish and one approved dog.
• USA driver license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Comfort leading devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (no proselytizing).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity; staff are role models.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and schedules.
• Administer medications as needed and maintain student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and engage in development and recreation.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
