Mahler Private Staffing on Cape Cod, MA is seeking a dedicated Property Caretaker for a year‑round, live‑in role at a distinguished estate. The job focuses on grounds maintenance, property care, and coordinating vendors while maintaining discretion when the principals are home.

The ideal candidate has at least five years in private estate care, strong landscaping and maintenance skills, and proficiency with lawn equipment. Onsite housing and utilities are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of relevant private estate or high-end residential experience
• Significant hands-on landscaping and grounds maintenance experience required
• Strong knowledge of lawn care, beds, hedges, and seasonal maintenance
• Experience with mowers, landscaping equipment, and tools
• Handyman and practical property maintenance skills
• Working knowledge of irrigation, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and winterization
• Experience with seasonal or oceanfront properties preferred
• Ability to manage vendors and contractors
• Proactive, organized, and able to work independently
• Discreet and professional demeanor when principals are in residence

Responsibilities

• Hands-on care of expansive grounds: mowing, weeding, mulching, beds, hedges
• Regular inspection and care of residences, grounds, garages, and property systems
• Routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs
• Maintain and service mowers and landscaping equipment
• Identify maintenance needs and property deficiencies
• Coordinate and oversee vendors and contractors
• Oversee seasonal opening, winterization, and storm prep
• Monitor property security and alarm systems
• Coordinate with housekeeping as needed
• Maintain property records and warranties
• Report deficiencies to Estate Manager
• Maintain professional discreet presence when principals are in residence
