Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents, living in on-campus student homes and guiding groups of 8–13 students. You will supervise, mentor, plan activities, and ensure student wellness within a structured, family-like environment.

During the initial phase, couples work nine days on and three days off, then progress to a Placed Houseparent role with consistent student housing. Consideration requires individual applications from both spouses.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person couple married at least two years.
• Both spouses age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Campus is smoke-free and weapon-free; no alcohol while on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one approved dog.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning development and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel attendance.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
