Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, provide care and supervision for 8–13 students, and support their academic, emotional, and social development.

The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with transition to a Placed Houseparent living arrangement. Benefits include comprehensive coverage and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth
• Two-person couple role for married couples (at least two years)
• Spouses must be age 27 or older
• No more than three dependent children in the home
• No smoking or weapons on campus; no alcohol on duty
• Pet limits: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans
• Comfort leading devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff as role models

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
