Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, supervise 8–13 students, and provide care, guidance, and supervision to foster academic and social development.

Initially they support various student homes with a nine-on / three-off schedule and transition to the placed houseparent role. Relocation assistance and paid training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-spouse couple requirement; married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children in the home.
• Campus is smoke-free and weapon-free; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship for students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and plan developmental/recreational events.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
