Job summary

Milton Hershey School is hiring married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents who reside in on-campus student homes and care for groups of 8–13 students. The role follows a 9 days on / 3 days off schedule, with progression to a placed houseparent in a dedicated home.

Compensation includes $46,917 per person, housing, meals on duty, utilities, and comprehensive benefits; relocation assistance and paid training are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth is required.
• Two-person role for legally married couples for at least 2 years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet restrictions: fish and one dog of approved breeds only.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Ability to lead daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship for students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and actively engage in developmental and recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
