Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents, living in on-campus student homes and guiding 8–13 students.

The role includes daily supervision, managing routines and schedules, wellness tasks, driving students to activities, and leading devotions, with a pathway to a fixed student home. A two-year marriage and driver’s license are required, along with a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel attendance.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Initially supporting various student homes on a 9-on / 3-off schedule.
• Transitioning to a Placed Houseparent with a fixed student home.
