Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, seeks full-time Flex Houseparents to live on campus and care for a group of 8–13 students. A two-person married couple must reside together, provide supervision, mentorship, and daily routines within a family-like home environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating schedules, supervising activities, managing wellness, and leading devotions. The role offers housing, benefits, and paid training as part of a comprehensive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
• Typically nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; transition to a placed houseparent role over time
