Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents, living in on-campus student homes and supervising a group of 8–13 students. This role contributes to students’ academic, emotional, and social development in a family-like setting. The two-person team must be legally married for at least two years, with both spouses aged 27 or older.

A high school diploma or GED is required, and a U.S. driver’s license is needed for driving duties.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning development and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Working nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off.
