Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is seeking Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples live in on-campus student homes, provide care and supervision for 8-13 students, and support their academic, emotional, and social development.

Positions start with a schedule of nine days on duty, three off, with opportunities to progress to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include health coverage, retirement, and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-spouse role requires both partners to be legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and engaging in developmental/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
