Job summary

International House at UC Berkeley seeks a Community & Housing Coordinator for a full-time, live-in on-site role to oversee residential operations and community programming. The CHC will coordinate student staff initiatives, housing processes, and daily services while collaborating with Resident Advisors and other staff.

The position requires a strong presence within the residential community, 24/7 on-call readiness, and the ability to enforce student conduct and support departmental priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to up to 10 Resident Advisors and supervise RA activities.
• Assist the Assistant Director with RA recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training.
• Support the execution of RA meetings and staff development sessions.
• Monitor student staff performance and communicate observations.
• Assign operational schedules and ensure appropriate residential coverage.
• Support logistical planning and execution of departmental events and initiatives.
• Hire and supervise Front Desk Assistants; set schedules and oversee front desk operations.
• Ensure high-quality customer service to residents and visitors of I-House.
• Oversee ID card distribution, package management, key management, visitor processes, and front desk communications.
• Maintain front desk procedures, documentation, and operational standards.
• Conduct routine operational reviews and recommend improvements.
