Aurora Community Services is seeking caring individuals for a Live-In Caregiver/Direct Support Professional role in Parker, CO. This position offers on-site, live-in support and a wage of $19 per hour with paid training.

You will work in residential group homes supporting adults with cognitive and mental health disabilities to live fuller, happier lives. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living tasks, medication administration, meal planning, and coordinating transportation.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities including dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal care.
• Medication administration and meal preparation/planning.
• Provide transportation for residents and support community/social integration.
• Follow individualized service plans and assist with overnight care when scheduled.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Seek out opportunities for community/social integration
• Help consumers plan and prepare their choices of fun events and outings
• Assisting with self care- dressing, bathing or showering, brushing teeth, toileting, shaving
• Medication Administration
• Meal Preparation/Planning
• Transportation of consumers
• Follow individual service plansOther duties as assigned

Live - In Requiremints:

• You'll be required to sleep overnight on site
• Overnights are on-call only - you're not paid unless you're woken up to assist a resident
• Must be able to respond to emergencies or resident needs if they come up overnight
• Additional paid shifts available during the day or evening, either at this house or other homes we operate

Essential Functions/Requirements:

• 18 years of age
• Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record for consumer transport
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to twist, turn, squat, bend, reach, pull, push from high/low position, raise arms above shoulder, walk, sit (chair and floor), climb stairs, and use hands and fingers
• Communicate basic English
• Basic reading, writing, and internet navigation skills
• Experience with adults with disabilities
