Job summary

UCLA is seeking an Assistant Resident Director to assist the Resident Director in implementing the student development program within a residential community of approximately 800-1500 students. The role involves advising and training student staff, program oversight, counseling and crisis response, and collaboration with Dining Services and Housing Assignments to deliver student services.

This is a full-time, live-in contract position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Solid organizational and project management skills required.
• Experience in advising and counseling individuals or groups required.
• Experience in designing and facilitating meetings and educational workshops required.
• Ability to market and publicize activities creatively required.
• Experience engaging others in diversity issues in on-campus housing required.
• Experience in planning and implementing programs/activities required.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with clients and coworkers required.
• Experience in organizing events to promote student engagement required.
• Proficiency in programming planning, implementing, and evaluating programs required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Director with implementing the student development program.
• Support student staff advising and training; program oversight; Student Government advising.
• Counseling/advising individuals; emergency/crisis response; student conduct.
• Collaborate with Front Desk operations, Housing Assignments and Dining Services for student services.
• Work in a full-time, live-in residence, contract position.
