Job summary

The Area Coordinator (AC) at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine, is a full-time, 12-month live-in professional who reports to the Director of Housing and Residential/Commuter Life. The AC fosters student development by building inclusive, safe communities in residence halls and overseeing facilities, including supervision of a student staff team.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience supervising students or advising student clubs is desirable.
Ability to work evenings and weekends; live on campus; strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Foster student development by building inclusive, safe communities in residence halls.
Oversee residence hall facilities and supervise a student staff team (RA’s).
Provide developmental conversations and support for personal, emotional, social, academic, career and health needs of students.
Collaborate with campus partners to plan and implement department events and policies.
Participate in daily duty coverage and emergency response as part of a rotation.
Maintain open office hours and serve as a resource for students, parents, and UNE community.
