The University of New England in Maine is seeking an Area Coordinator (AC) to be a live-in, full-time professional in Housing and Residential/Commuter Life. The AC supports student development, builds inclusive communities, and oversees residence halls with a staff team, including evening and weekend duties.

Required is a Bachelor’s in Student Affairs or Higher Education (Master’s preferred). The role emphasizes collaboration, policy enforcement, and strong communication with students, families,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
• Experience supervising students and advising student clubs/organizations desirable.
• Experience in residence life department; ability to meet deadlines; initiative; teamwork; communication; problem-solving; collaboration; training facilitation; willingness to duty rotate; evenings/weekends; live on campus.

Responsibilities

• Foster student development by building inclusive, safe residence communities.
• Oversee residence hall facilities and supervise a student staff team.
• Participate in duty coverage and emergency response planning.
• Collaborate with campus partners to plan campus-wide events.
• Provide support to commuter students.
• Live on campus and maintain high visibility in residence halls and at campus events.
