Job summary

Spotlight Events, Inc. in Eagle, Idaho, is seeking a resourceful Production Technician to support setup, operation, and troubleshooting of all technical elements for Spotlight and LEAP events.

You will work with lighting, audio, video, stage equipment, and media systems, collaborating with vendors and venue staff to ensure reliable execution. Travel is required during the January–July season, with 6–10 regional events annually, typically lasting 3–5 days, and occasional national events.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical support, live production, or event AV setups.
• Training or education in theater technology, broadcasting, or related fields (Preferred).
• Experience with lighting, audio, and multimedia systems in live-event environments (Preferred).
• Experience in technical theater, broadcasting, or film/TV, with knowledge of lighting, sound, and media workflows.
• Proficiency in mixing live audio on analog consoles and managing microphones.
• Basic networking and computer troubleshooting experience.
• Familiarity with video systems and software.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS and MS Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving skills, flexibility, and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Set up, test, and maintain stage, audio, video, lighting, and computer systems
• Troubleshoot technical systems across performance spaces and retail areas
• Coordinate with staging and lighting vendors to ensure proper configuration
• Partner with venue staff to meet technical requirements for space and equipment
• Support security and ensure a safe event environment
• Manage truck loading and unloading and assist with staff meal procurement
• Provide occasional support as Announcer or Video Specialist as scheduled
• Manage crew meal logistics, including menu selection and ordering
