Job summary

Berklee Presents seeks a Playback Engineer to operate the Ableton Live playback rig for rehearsals and on-stage performances with the Berklee Presents team. You will coordinate programmed and live stems, assist with sound design, and support the tech crew during productions.

The role requires strong live sound experience, teamwork, and ability to work varied hours around rehearsals and events. Hourly rate provided.

Qualifications

Strong live sound and audio playback experience.
Experience with electronic music production and working with ensembles.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and operate the Ableton Live playback rig for rehearsals and on-stage performances.
Assist track production as a programmer for sound design to support musical arrangements.
Manage incorporation of live audio stems in tracks.
Aid Production Supervisor in standardization and quality control of tracks used in playback.
Consult with musical directors on triggering effects during concerts.
Collaborate with lighting designers and VJ teams on time-coded multimedia elements.
Coach other Berklee Presents student employees on playback rig operations.
Arrange audio stems for mockups and playback tracks and assist with processing and mixing.
Support setup and breakdown of rehearsal room equipment for large ensembles.
Adhere to calendar and session logs for recording studio bookings.
