Job summary

The Houston Symphony Society seeks a Concert Operations Manager to oversee assigned concert operations activities, budgeting, and logistics for touring and runouts. You will steward relationships with venues and vendors while supporting performances and livestreams at the highest level.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and/or training.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a related role.
• Knowledge of classical music is required.
• Artistic judgement, professionalism, and discretion are essential.
• Strong ability to read conductor’s score with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Plan, administer, and coordinate concert operations, including equipment rental and seating/logistics.
• Advance technical needs for concerts with tour managers and ensure contract terms are met.
• Collaborate with Stage Manager and crew to execute high-quality productions.
• Organize orchestra tours/runouts, itineraries, transportation, and escorting.
• Coordinate BOH facility and equipment rentals; draft Jones Hall rental contracts.
• Prepare crew payrolls per IATSE guidelines and manage rehearsal room schedules.
• Maintain positive relationships with venues, vendors, and staff to support productions.
