Job summary

The City of Frederick is seeking a Multimedia Technician to support Office of Public Affairs productions and equipment. The role includes technically directing live broadcasts of City meetings from a control room and remote locations, with occasional evenings and weekend work required.

The ideal candidate has video production and broadcasting experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot AV equipment while maintaining multiple City facilities' gear.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in digital media or related field.
• At least 2 years in video production.
• At least 2 years in video broadcasting.
• Experience operating audio/video production equipment.
• Able to work with standard AV software and hardware.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Master Control Operator for Cable Channel 99.
• Directs live televised meetings.
• Maintains online video archives of public meetings.
• Tracks production equipment inventory.
• Diagnoses and fixes equipment failures.
• Cross-trains with the Production Supervisor.
• Edits video and photo assignments.
• Assists studio and field productions.
