Job summary

The City of Frederick is seeking a Multimedia Technician to support the Office of Public Affairs productions and equipment. The role involves technically directing live broadcasts of City meetings in a control room and remote settings, with evening and occasional weekend work for City meetings and events.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certification in digital media or related field or sufficient work experience in related communications field.
• Two (2) years of work experience in video production.
• Two (2) years of video broadcasting work experience.
• Experience with the operation of audio and video production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Act as Master Control Operator for Cable Channel 99.
• Direct live televised meetings.
• Maintain online video archiving of public meetings.
• Track production equipment inventory.
• Fixes and/or diagnoses equipment failures.
• Acts as contact for AV equipment needs/requests at City facilities.
• Edits video and photo assignments.
• Assists studio and field productions.
• Optimizes workflow of digital media files.
• Utilizes cameras to capture visual imagery for assignments.
• Works on rotating call schedule for night, weekend and emergency responses.
• Cross-trains for technical skills with the Production Supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
