Job summary

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Parish is seeking a Music Director to plan liturgies and music in collaboration with the Pastor and Liturgy Committee. You will develop and direct choirs for Sundays and special liturgies, leading parishioners to active participation in worship.

The role includes assisting the school choir for weekly liturgies, providing music for funerals and weddings, and maintaining the music library and equipment. Spanish language ability is a plus for Masses.

Qualifications

• Skilled choral director; able to direct from the bench.
• Skilled in piano; able to play the pipe organ.
• Knowledge of Catholic liturgy.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Well-organized with attention to detail.
• Self-motivated with initiative.
• Flexible and able to follow direction.
• Willing to continue spiritual and musical formation.
• Bi-lingual Spanish desirable for Spanish Masses.

Responsibilities

• Plan liturgies and music with the Pastor and Liturgy Committee.
• Develop and direct choirs for Sundays and special liturgies.
• Lead parishioners toward active participation in liturgical celebrations.
• Assist school choir with weekly liturgies and special events; rehearsal planning.
• Provide music for funerals and weddings.
• Hold choir rehearsals; maintain music library and equipment.
